AccessFix is a Chrome extension that detects WCAG accessibility violations on web pages and generates AI-powered fix suggestions. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your privacy.
1. Information We Collect
- Chrome Extension Installation ID — An anonymous identifier assigned by the browser, used solely for tracking usage limits. This ID cannot be linked to your personal identity.
- Page HTML Structure — When you run a scan, AccessFix temporarily processes the HTML structure of the active page in your browser to detect WCAG violations. This data is processed locally and is never stored on our servers.
- Violation Data — Detected violations (element selectors, violation type, surrounding markup) are sent to our API to generate AI-powered fix code. This data is processed in real time and is not stored.
2. How We Use Your Information
- WCAG Violation Detection — Page structure is analyzed locally to identify accessibility issues.
- AI Fix Code Generation — Violation data is sent to our API so the AI model can generate suggested code fixes.
- Usage Limit Management — Your anonymous installation ID and a usage counter are stored to enforce free-plan limits.
3. Third-Party Services
- Anthropic Claude API — Used to generate AI-powered fix suggestions. Only the specific violation data (not the entire page) is sent to this service. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare Workers — Acts as an API proxy and manages usage counters. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Storage & Retention
- Page content is never stored on any server.
- Violation data is processed in real time and not retained after the response is returned.
- Usage records (anonymous installation ID + request count) are stored in Cloudflare KV and automatically deleted after 60 days.
5. Data Security
All communication between the extension and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We do not collect, store, or have access to any personally identifiable information.
6. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is generally no personal data to access, modify, or delete. Uninstalling the extension will stop all data processing immediately. Usage records associated with your anonymous ID are automatically purged after 60 days.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
